OSG employees donate blood
        A bloody OSG Celebrates.

No, not because of any chaos or disaster but because OSG decided to open its month-long anniversary celebration by donating blood to the needy patients through the National Voluntary Blood Services Program of the Philippine Blood Center-Department of Health.

For its 107th Anniversary, OSG named this year’s commemoration of its foundation day as “OSG Celebrates” for according to Solicitor General Agnes VST Devanadera, the past year marked many milestones that OSG should celebrate. One of it is the signing of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Republic Act 9417 or the OSG Law that would strengthen and expand OSG. She said that the blood donation activity is a good way to start the celebration since she sees the blood letting as a symbolic forging of OSG’s ties to its ultimate clients – the Filipino people and a reiteration of its promise to be of service to them.

The blood donation activity was held last 08 September 2008 at the OSG. Fourty-nine employees donate their blood to support the Philippine Blood Center’s intensified effort to promote voluntary blood donation to be able to provide life-saving service to many Filipinos that need blood for their medical and surgical procedures.

Before the start of the blood donation activity, OSG employees watched a video presentation that talked about promotion of healthy lifestyle, HIV prevention, and facts about blood donation. The presentation aimed to encourage more OSG employees to donate their blood and help save lives. (By: Erika Joy C. Arcillas, OSG Web Team)
