Internship Program

The OSG Summer Legal Internship Program is a structured seven-week program designed to provide unparalleled legal training to outstanding law students from all over the country.  Specifically designed to impart upon its participants a sense of patriotism and a deeper appreciation of public service, the program offers unsurpassed legal training and participation in activities which most private law firms do not provide.

The program provides a comprehensive enumeration of activities which include, among others, review of cases, pleading drafting, attendance of court hearings, participation in lectures, seminars and workshops on various legal topics, and visits to courts and government offices.

Admission into the structured program is highly competitive with applicants going through a very rigorous selection process.  Since its inception, the program has attracted around two hundred (200) outstanding students and student leaders from the best law schools in the country.  A number of them have joined the government after they were admitted to the bar.  In the 2010 Bar Examinations, four of its former legal interns were in the top ten: Atty. Krizelle Marie F. Poblacion (OSG legal intern, Batch 2009, 6th place), Atty. Maria Christina C. Ortua (OSG legal intern, Batch 2008, 7th place), Atty. Joanna Eileen M. Capones (OSG legal intern, Batch 2008, 8th place), and Atty. William Benson S. Gan (OSG legal intern, Batch 2008, 9th place).
