By Edu Punay (The Philippine Star) Updated March 19, 2011 12:00 AM Comments (12) MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) is offering the top 10 passers in last year’s Bar exams careers in government. In a letter, Solicitor General Jose Anselmo Cadiz urged the top 10 Bar passers, mostly graduates of Ateneo law school, to apply their legal training in public service and join OSG’s “relentless pursuit of integrity in advocacy and social justice through advocacy” in its 110th year. “Pursuant to the OSG’s vision to actively enlist the best legal minds, we are offering you the position of associate solicitor III. As a rule, an associate solicitor III position is open only to lawyers who have at least three years of relevant experience. The position, however, is likewise offered to lawyers who have excelled in the bar examinations,” Cadiz explained. He revealed that four of the 10 topnotchers were former legal interns in the OSG: Krizelle Marie Poblacion, who placed sixth; Ma. Christina Ortua, No. 7; Johanna Eileen Capones, eight, all from the University of the Philippines College of Law; and William Benson Gan, from Ateneo de Manila University law school who placed ninth. Job offers have also been sent to first placer Cesareo Antonio Singzon Jr. of Ateneo de Manila University law school; No. 2 Filemon Ray Javier, also of Ateneo; third placer Paolo Carlo Tolentino, of Arellano University; fourth placer Janette Ancog, of Ateneo de Davao; No. 5 Johana Sunga, also of Ateneo; No. 7 Krystal Lyn Uy of UP; and 10th placers Glenn Carampatana of University of San Carlos and Darren Salipsip of Arellano University. Judy Lardizabal, 2008 Bar topnotcher from San Sebastian Recoletos College of Law, is now an associate solicitor. Michael Macapagal of UP and Denise Dy of Ateneo, who placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the same year, have also joined the OSG.
