HPV Vaccination

December 8 & 9, 2012 (Seminar on HPV)

January 26, 2013 (1st Dose) ; March 22, 2012 (2nd Dose) ;  July 5, 2012 (3rd Dose)

The Gender and Development Committee has partnered with Merck Sharp & Dohme and MedStation in providing 422 OSG employees with a human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (Gardasil), administered in three (3) doses over a peiod of six (6) months. This will protect women employees against cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancer and genital warts, and will also protect the men employees from external genital lesions and infections caused by certain HPV types.

The OSG employees were first given a seminar on December 8 & 9, 2012 regarding the various diseases caused by the HPV; the risks and benefits of the vaccination; and other methods to prevent such diseases.

The first dose of vaccines was administered on January 26, 2012, the second dose on March 22, 2012, and the third dose on July 5, 2012.

GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop

February 20 to 22, 2013 at Baguio City

The Gender and Development (GAD) Committee members organized a GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop last February 20 to 22 in Baguio City for rapport building and reports crafting. This resulted in a the finalization of the FY 2012 Accomplishment Report, FY 2013 Plan and Budget, FY 2013 Plan of Action, and the 3-Year (FY 2014-2016) GAD Agenda of the OSG which were submitted to the Department of Justice and Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for approval. To date, all documents are signed by the Agency Head and endorsed by the PCW.
